Product Description
Cold Formed Plastic - 500 x 300 x 3mm.
This copolyester can be shaped by hand at room temperature to form a permanent bend and retains its excellent clarity. There is no need for any specialist equipment. It can be heated in very hot water and it will return to its original shape. It looks like acrylic, is similar in strength to polycarbonate but its carbon footprint is 50% less. This material can be laser cut, routed, welded, drilled, die-punched, bent hot or cold, or joined by screws, rivets, or bolts and produces minimal-odour. It can also be cut on conventional table, band, or radial-arm saws with blades commonly used for plastic. It can be vacuum-formed at lower temperatures than other plastics and up to 50% faster than acrylic. Smaller pieces are easier to work with, especially strips. If you do need to bend larger pieces, use the edge of a table or a folding jig. Its edges can be polished by using professional edge-finishing equipment, sanding, solvents, flame-polishing or buffing. It forms clear, strong bonds with cements and solvents. It accepts screen-printing, painting, and hot-stamping easily. Surface scratches or scuff marks can be removed using a common heat gun.
