Linseed oil is an excellent binder making the paints pleasant to work with and hardens them faster giving a resistant finish of depth. Very clear, slightly acid, siccative oil which does yellow in abscence of light.
Thin with mineral spirit or turpentine.
A few drops of linseed oil will thin the French "88" Inks if required.
