Wax Emulsion Resist.
A waxy substance used to prevent slips or glazes from adhering onto the clay body or a prior coating of slip. Can be applied on greenware or bisque, to resist application of glaze, slip and underglaze. It can also be used in decoration to create unique designs.
Another practical use for Wax Emulsion Resist is to protect the bottoms of your pots from welding to the kiln shelf during firing. The wax burns off during firing.
